Begin with the Sign of the Cross: β
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
While holding the crucifix, pray the Apostlesβ Creed:
I believe in God,
the Father almighty,
Creator of heaven and earth,
and in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died and was buried;
he descended into hell;
on the third day he rose again from the dead;
he ascended into heaven,
and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty;
from there he will come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic Church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and life everlasting.
Amen.
Then pray the Our Father:
Our Father, which art in heaven, sanctified be thy name.
Let thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, in earth also.
Give us today our supersubstantial bread, and forgive us our debts, as we also forgive our debtors.
And lead us not into tentation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.
Modernized Version
Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name.
Thy kindgdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven
give us this day, our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass't against us,
and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.
Then pray:
Three Hail Marys (for Faith, Hope, and Charity), and one Glory Be.
Hail Mary Prayer:
Hail Mary full of grace,
the Lord is with Thee,
blessed art though among women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb Jesus.
Holy Mary Mother of God, Pray for us sinners,
now and at the hour of our death; amen.
Pray:
Glory Be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost,
Even as it was in the beginning, and now, and ever: and world without end. Amen.
Modernized Version
Glory Be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning is now and ever shall be: world without end. Amen.
For each decade:
Announce the mystery, pause for reflection, then pray:
One Our Father, ten Hail Marys, and one Glory Be.
After each decade:
You may add: βO My Jesus, forgive us our sins,
save us from the fires of hell, lead all souls to heaven,
especially those who are in most need of Thy mercy; amen."
Hail, Holy Queen, Mother of Mercy,
our life, our sweetness and our hope.
To thee do we cry,
poor banished children of Eve.
To thee do we send up our sighs,
mourning and weeping in this valley of tears.
Turn then, most gracious advocate,
thine eyes of mercy toward us,
and after this our exile
show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
O clement, O loving,
O sweet Virgin Mary.
Pray for us, O holy Mother of God.
That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.
O God, whose only begotten Son,
by His life, death, and resurrection,
has purchased for us the rewards of eternal life
grant, we beseech Thee, that meditating
upon these mysteries of the most Holy Rosary
of the Blessed Virgin Mary,
we may imitate what they contain
and obtain what they promise,
through the same Christ Our Lord
Amen.
Optional: Conclude with the Litany of Loreto or another Marian devotion.
"And Jesus being baptized,
forthwith came out of the water: and lo,
the heavens were opened to him:
and he saw the Spirit of God descending as a dove,
and coming upon him. And behold a voice from heaven saying:
This is my beloved son, in whom I am well pleased." (Mt 3:16-17)
"And the third day there was a marriage made in Cana of Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there And Jesus also was called, his disciples, to the marriage. And the wine failing, the mother of Jesus saith to him: They have no wine. And Jesus saith to her: What is to me and thee, woman? my hour cometh not yet. His mother saith to the ministers: Whatsoever he shall say to you, do ye." (Jn 2:1β5)
"and saying: That the time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: be penitent, and believe in the Gospel." (Mk 1:15)
"And after six days Jesus taketh unto him Peter, and James, and John his brother, and bringeth them into a high mountain apart: And he was transfigured before them. And his face did shine as the sun: and his garments became white as snow." (Mt 17:1-2)
"And whiles they were at supper, Jesus took bread, and blessed, and brake: and he gave to his disciples, and said: Take ye, and eat: THIS IS MY BODY." (Mt 26:26)
